Bows for renaissance viols
Beech stick with box or plum clip-in frog
These bows are very light and agile with about 80 - 90 black hairs. Despite their low weight, they are able to get even a big 7-string bass viol to resonate.
They are ideal for renaissance viols, which they make sound louder, more open and more resonant. The German double bass grip seems to be the best way to hold them.
