7-string bass viol
after Michel Colichon, Paris 1689
Here are some fotos of the instrument I made for my niece Lina Harders. It is based on the 1689 Colichon from the collection Grumbt in Witten. This instrument is slightly smaller than the 1691 Colichon and bigger than the paris Colichon from 1683. Lina is very fond of horses and therefore is having two horses for the head.
I find this instrument very elegant and a good size.
